Vintage Hull Little Red Riding Hood Pitcher
A beautiful piece from Hull's Little Red Riding Hood series. This is an exceptional piece called a batter pitcher. It has a handle on one side which is formed by Little Red Riding Hood's arm and basket while the other side has a large spout for pouring. She has a cute doll face with dark blushing cheeks. Her dress features a lovely poppy flower decal.
There is some wear to the flower decal but it is otherwise in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or crazing.
Measures 7"(17.78 cm) tall x 7 1/2"(19.05 cm) wide.
By far the most popular line to come from the Hull factory was Red Riding Hood. The figural cookie jar was produced first in 1943. This piece proved so popular that other Red Riding Hoods followed: banks, butter dishes, creamers, pitchers, salt and peppers, even teapots. Red Riding Hood figurals continued production until the mid 1950s.
